Clear browsing history and cached data.

You can try this fix at first when you find your Microsoft edge not working. You can easily clear your browsing data by following these steps:

  1. After you have opened Microsoft Edge, tap on the three-dot icon present in the upper right corner of the screen. From the drop down menu click on settings.
  2. Navigate to Clear Browsing data and Click on option Choose what to clear
  3. From the list of Clear Browsing data, select Browsing history and Cached data and Files.
  4. Then click on the clear button and it will clear all the data which you have selected.

After you are done this process, restart your Microsoft Edge and see if your problem has been solved.

Perform Clean boot.

This trick is good for your issue of Microsoft edge not working especially for those when the Microsoft Edge doesn’t open at all. By Clean booting your PC you will be able to resolve this issue without opening your Microsoft Edge. You can do this by following these steps:

  1. Type Start + R on your PC and then enter ms config in the window appeared and click OK.
  2. After clicking on the Services tab, tick the box before Hide all Microsoft Services.
  3. Click on the button Disable All.
  4. Now, click on Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.

Reinstall Microsoft Edge through Powers hell:

Many times problem of Microsoft edge not working occurs because your Microsoft Edge has not been installed properly. You can correct it by reinstalling Microsoft Edge through Power Shell. You can do it by following these simple steps:

  1. Type Windows key + S. Then type power shell. Right-click on the power shell. After that select Run as administrator.
  2. Click on yes when asked for administrator permission.
  3. After the power shell has opened, type the following command: Get-AppXPackage-All Users|For each{Add-AppXPackage-Disable Development Mode-Register”$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
  4. Then a process will be initiated, wait until the process is finished and then try starting Microsoft Edge again.

Try using Group Policy Editor:

You can do so by following these steps:

  1. Type Windows + S and then type group policy and after that click on Edit group policy.
  2. Go to Computer Configuration available at the left panel, then click on Administrative Templates > Windows Components. In the Windows Components, click on App Package Deployment.
  3. Then a list will appear on the right side of the panel. Double-click on the option Allow deployment operations in special profiles.
  4. Click on Enabled and then click OK.

Create a new User Account:

If you are unable to correct this problem even after trying every fix discussed above, you can try creating a new User Account. You can so by following these steps:

  1. Go to Windows Settings and click on
  2. In the option Family & other people, click Add someone else to this PC.
  3. Click on I don’t have this person’s sign-in information.
  4. Select add a user without Microsoft Account.
  5. Type the name set password for the new user. Then click on
